Golden Apple Christmas Card

Lino block print in gold ink, printed on a variety of paper: plain card stock and mono-prints.
This Christmas card ties in with my Advent art piece for my church.

The Gift

Title: The Gift
Medium: acrylic paint, enlarged photo, and paper.

This is a collage I did for my church's Advent art exhibit.

If an apple symbolizes our Fall in the Garden of Eden,
A Golden Apple symbolizes our redemption through Jesus Christ.

5x7 series

Over the past month I have worked on a series of 5x7 paintings. I wanted a short but sweet project to take advantage of the small bits of time I have. I was able to paint each of these in approximately one hour.

Collage and mono-print

Mono-print and collage with a saved white space. Text added at a later date. I have found I really enjoy coming back to things. The piece below got here in three stages. First the mono-print session, then a collage session and put away for a few weeks. Then I pulled it out and knew just what to do.

Block Print Project

Here is my latest block print stamped onto three different backgrounds.

Pear printed on plain paper

Pear printed on paper from an old book

Pear printed on mono-prints. These are my favorites!

Pear block on watercolour paper

Because I love to experiment, I took my pear block and inked it with black acrylic paint (ever so slightly diluted for better flow) and printed 4 pears. Once dry I added colour with water colour paints. I like how they turned out but they don't feel done yet.

My first ATC!!

I just participated in my first Artist Trading Card Swap!! This swap was done with a group of friends who I have been doing a book study with for about a year. I mentioned to these gals that I'd just learned about ATC's and they got inspired and wanted to do one!!

Our theme was 'inspiring words'. Here are the cards I made:

And here are the ones I swapped for:

And here is our ATC's all together:
